Casa do Antonio ( 2023 )

This is Antonio’s house, located on a hill just outside Porto, northern Portugal. He lives there with his wife, Margarida, and just as recently, he rents his 4 bedroom house on Airbnb. This happened following a life-changing event that led Antonio to find ways to keep his mind active during his pensioner days. In fact, he loves hosting families in his expertly decorated house in which guests find themselves surrounded by nature, by Antonio’s own exotic birds and chickens, a fully equipped house with a pool and the many entertaining activities the place offers; all this while facing one of Portugal’s many vineyards and ever so green landscape.

Antonio is really passionate about collecting and through the years he’s gathered different scrap metals, coins, and a variety of big and small everyday objects. His creative mind has taken him to build figures by cutting, melting, and gluing together pieces, giving life to amazing sculptures displayed around the house. He uses any materials, from cutlery to his wife’s drawer of spare buttons. Also, Portugal’s old coin Escudo is used on his woman’s bust sculpture and the iconic door knocker is placed strategically on his guitar sculpture, these are small details of his Portuguese background.
